Sculpture by the Swiss artist Al Meier, international outdoor art exhibition. Photo by Gian Ehrenzeller/EPA,posted at theguardian.com. It’s hard to top nature’s sculpture, there in the background:

Full slate. Headline from nypost.com: “Hero grandma shoots burglar who interrupted Taylor Swift movie night with granddaughter — and then tended to perp’s wound.”

From NYP: “Biden is the least popular president in 70 years — below even Nixon and Carter, scathing poll finds.” Anyone surprised?

From NYP: “Viral video shows little girl hugging NYC ‘pretzel man’ after week away: ‘Literally ran into his arms’.” All together — awwww! Photo from NYP/Google Images:

Headline from newsmax.com: “ICC Moving to Indict Netanyahu, Israeli Leaders for War Crimes.” Up next — Hamas, Hezbollah and Iranian leaders — not!

Headline from foxnews.com: “Christie Brinkley’s ex-husband Billy Joel serenades her at concert 30 years after split.” Awww!

From FN: “Newsom gets hilarious reality check after turning to public for new state coin design.” And the sub-headline: “Coin ideas from public included issues facing CA, like homelessness, crime, immigration.”

He’s back. Tokyo Metropolitan Government building, Godzilla: Attack on Tokyo. Photo by Yuichi Yamazaki/AFP/Getty Images, posted at theguardian.com:

I’ve been frustrated at not being able to come up with a short story idea involving AI. I don’t want to go the apocalyptic route. I may finally have something.

Broke out the shorts today, as the temperature was above 80. I stepped out of the shade only to serve the Anti-Inflation Book Shop customers. My thanks to the woman who donated a bunch of DVDs in Russian; and to the Cook Book Lady, who took home 365 Ways to Cook Pasta by Marie Simmons and Better Homes and Gardens Easy Stir-Fry Recipes by Diana McMillen; and to the gentleman who purchased Black and Blue by Anna Quindlen and By Order of the President by W.E.B. Griffith; and to the young woman who bought Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass An American Slave, Written by Himself; and to the one who selected The Art of Achievement: Mastering The 7 Cs of Success in Business and Life by Tom Morris (Conception, Confidence, Concentration, Consistency, Commitment, Character, Capacity to Enjoy); and to the gentleman who chose seven CDs, three by Jeff Healey, one each by Don Henley, SRV, Garry More and Jim Croce.
