One will need photo ID to get into the Dem convention — more do as I say, not as I do from pols.

Here’s something I hadn’t thought about, which talk radio host Mark Simone touched on this morning, sending me on a Google search. On average, insuring an EV costs around $337 per month, or $4043 per year, approximately 20% more than insuring a gas-powered vehicle. EVs have slightly higher repair costs than gas-powered vehicles, averaging $1712 compared to $1695 over five years of ownership. The average post-accident EV repair costs $6066, compared to $4703 for a gas-powered.

Every August skeeters dine on my Sicilian blood. No different this year. Help!

RIP TV talk show legend Phil Donahue, 88. Born in Cleveland, he earned a Bachelor’s at Notre Dame. He worked simultaneously in radio and television in Ohio, interviewing big names. In January 1970 his eponymous show was syndicated nationally. In 1984 it moved to NYC. In all, it ran 29 years. He also appeared on The Today Show from 1979 until 1988. He continued in various other projects that did not achieve the same popularity. He was nominated for 20 Daytime Emmy Awards, winning eight for Outstanding Talk Show Host. He is a member of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Hall of Fame. He had five kids with his first wife and none with his second, Marlo Thomas, to whom he was wed from 1980 until his passing. Although his politics were liberal, he was not strident. He was the author of three books. Well done, Sir. Facts from Wiki, photo from Google Images:

This may be the most amusing headline of the day, from foxnews.com: “Dem lawmaker who blamed Jews for the weather arrested on six-figure bribery charges.” What’s the Hebrew word for karma?

Sanity restored, at least temporarily, from FN: “Harley-Davidson renounces its woke behavior after bikers put pressure on American icon.” If one were to guess which businesses would be the last to cave, I bet most folks would have put the motorcycle icon on the list.

I should change the name of the Anti-Inflation Book Shop to the 3D Art Shop. My thanks to all those who bought on this gorgeous day, especially the woman who took home ten of them, and to the one who donated two Danielle Steel hardcovers in Russian, and to the gentleman who snapped them up minutes later.
