Thai New Year, Bangkok. Reuters photo by Chalinee Thirasupa:

Headline from nypost.com: “‘No disruption’: Israelis flock to beaches, cafes after Iran attack: ‘It’s normal life for them’.” Wow.

This sounds like something out of The Benny Hill Show, from NYP: “Heart sprints faster: Married teacher, 45, caught naked in car with 17-year-old student — who makes a run for it in his underwear.” Cue the music.

Encouraging news, from NYP: “Murders down up to 20% in some major US cities — including NYC: ‘Very positive trends’.”

Common sense, from NYP: “Alan Dershowitz: Iran Attacks Won’t End Without Regime Change.” Trouble is, what percentage of the citizens support its leaders? Many in the USA seem to support terror, for heaven’s sake.

Among today’s many celebrations, it’s world art day. I like Lichtenstein. Photo from Google Images:

Headline from foxnews.com: “Dozens of potential jurors in Trump trial released after admitting they couldn’t be fair.” How many will lie about it?

Last night I picked up an episode of Stargate SG1 about ten minutes late. It concerned the profound effect the death of one of the team had on the others. The deceased was played by Teryl Rothery, who appeared in 75 of the more than 200 episodes shot of the popular sci-fi series. Upon research at IMDb, I discovered that she may be the most prolific actor in decades. Born in Vancouver in 1962, her career began on stage at 13. There are 198 titles under her name, screen career spanning 1986 to the present. That figure doesn’t begin to tell her story. She appeared in or did a voice-over on 35–66 episodes of six other shows, ten-23 of ten other shows, and she did a slew of guests shots, including two of The X-Files, and a ton of TV movies. Her most notable big screen appearance came in the Best in Show (2000). And she’s only 61! She’s a mom of one. Kudos on a fantastic run, Madam. Photo from GI:

A picture-perfect day and the Anti-Inflation Book Shop did well. My thanks to Gordie, who donated a couple of thrillers, and to Angelo and the two ladies who overcompensated me for their purchases, and everyone else who bought. Here’s what sold: The Associate by John Grisham, Rogue by Danielle Steel; Hope to Die by Lawrence Block; Killing Patton by Bill O’Reilly and Martin Dugard; three books in Russian; A Suitable Vengeance by Elizabeth George; Business Notes: Writing Personal Notes That Build Professional Relationships by Florence Isaacs; The Ten Dumbest Mistakes Smart People Make and How to Avoid Them: Simple and Sure Techniques for Gaining Greater Control of Your Life by Arthur Freeman & Rose Dewolf; and this gem:
