RIP Chiefs LB Jim Lynch, 76. A native of Ohio, he was co-captain of the 1966 national champs, Notre Dame, and received the Maxwell Award as the best all-around player in college football. He is a member of the College Football Hall of fame. Selected in the second round of the 1967 NFL draft, he played eleven years, all with Kansas City. He missed only three games, at one point playing in 148 straight. He was a member of the Super Bowl IV champions. He was an AFL All-Star in 1968, and twice second team All-AFL. He had 19 interceptions, returning one for a TD, and 14 fumble recoveries. Well done, sir.
Will anyone in the mainstream media call out the inflamed rhetoric of leftists now that a politician has been physically attacked while making a speech? Don’t bet on it. The nutjob has already been released.
Headline from foxnews.com: “Entire North Carolina police department resigns after new town manager is hired.” The chief cited “Hostile Work Environment” in his resignation letter. I don’t know how many officers it entails. Maybe it’s a Mayberry clone.
From FN: “Used cars costing consumers $10,000 more than ‘normal’ as inflation rages.” Still a lot cheaper than an electric model the elites would have people buy.
I was back at my usual book nook today. I put out only 20% of the wares, the most marketable, all spread in the shade. My thanks to Ira, who not only brought me a bottle of water but insisted on paying for the two books he chose: Project Blue Book, a UFO study by Brad Steiger, and a book with “Remember” in the title covering the ‘30’s, ‘40’s & ‘50’s; and to local porter Robert, who gave me a container of hummus, perfect for dipping an everything bagel into, a cool meal on a hot day… The Lady Eve has returned from her trip across the ocean. When I asked how Copenhagen was, she said: “Seventy-eight degrees.” Three more days of intense heat — if the forecast is correct. The advisory was supposed to end Sunday night, but a temp of 93 is predicted for Monday. Help!
