More, Moore & Apes

So, is Sweden doing Corona right? The government called on citizens to hold themselves accountable for social distancing instead of ordering lockdowns. It has suffered 2355 deaths. Denmark, Norway and Finland have recorded just 434, 206 and 199 respectively as of Tuesday. What Sweden is also counting on is a less deadly second wave, hoping many of its citizens have developed immunity. Is it a sound strategy? I have no idea. What if there is no second wave? One aspect the nypost.com article left out is the percentage of infection. Sweden’s population is almost twice that of its Nordic neighbors. A quick mental calculation suggests its death rate is more than double.

Here’s something that took me completely by surprise, from a Post article by Steven W. Mosher on Michael Moore’s new film, Planet of the Humans, in which, believe it or not, he takes on the phoniness of the environmental industry and, especially, its hierarchy. It exposes the connections between leading environmentalists like Al Gore and Wall Street financiers. Zealots are in an uproar, demanding the doc be banned. Anyone hoping that Moore has finally seen the light and become a conservative will also be disappointed. His solution to “the problem” is population control (he must love Corona), to which Mosher replies: “You first.” I’m reminded of the line from Planet of the Apes (1968): “The only good human is a dead human.” The video runs more than 90 minutes and may not be available for long, given its political incorrectness. Here’s an intriguing new book cited in a Post article by Michael Kaplan:

When management of a Florida boating community wouldn’t let an owner fly a Trump flag, he countered by changing the name of his craft:

Here’s an amusing headline from foxnews.com: “Robot ‘spy’ gorilla records wild Ugandan gorillas singing and farting.”
