I don’t know the origin of this lovely painting posted at pinterest.com. I apologize to the creator:

This seems appropriate. Headline from nypost.com: “Warrior spirit: Japanese PM Shigeru Ishiba gifts Trump a golden samurai helmet during White House visit.”

From The most covered song in country music history. Plus, see the rest of the top 25 by Katrina Sirotta at msm.com, in my own words. Hank Williams dominates the list with four songs, highest rated #8 I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry, written by Williams. I play it, along with one of my all-time favorites, #5 Crazy, originally recorded by Patsy Cline accompanied by The Jordanaires, written by Willie Nelson; and #7 (Ghost) Riders in the Sky, originally recorded by Bob Geddins’ Cavaliers, written by Stan Jones. #1 is Tennessee Waltz, originally recorded by Pee Wee King and His Golden West Cowboys, written by King & Redd Stewart. It has been covered by Otis Redding, Ella Fitzgerald, Patsy Cline and Elvis Presley, to name a few. In this other wise fine article, Sirotta made a glaring omission, failing to mention that Patti Page’s rendition was/is the most popular, occupying the top spot for nine weeks on the pop chart in 1950. Headline from foxnews.com: “Obama’s billion-dollar green project blasted as ‘disaster’ now set to close after a decade.” Anyone surprised?

Excerpts from an article by Simon Constable, FOX Business, edited by yours truly: “Poland’s economy was estimated to have grown 2.9% last year… That trounces Europe’s single currency area, the Eurozone, by more than threefold… Poland’s growth also overtook that of the U.S., which grew a robust 2.5% in the 12 months through December… The country is expected to spend 4.7% of its GDP on defense this year, a larger percentage than any other NATO member… it has also taken on the burden of more than 7 million refugees from Ukraine… it’s economy has grown to 11 times as big as in 1986. That considerably outpaces the U.S., which grew its economy to be six times as big over the same period.” Kudos. Kielbasa for everybody.

No luck selling stuff curbside post storm on this cold Super Bowl Sunday. The sunshine that was forecast didn’t show, so this 74-year-old wuss couldn’t hack more than an hour out there… Enjoy the show.
