An article by Ian Mohr at nypost.com reveals the scoop veteran newsman Marvin Scott scored in 1955 at the age of 15. It was a Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus charity event at MSG. Scott finagled his way in using a Bronx high school press pass. To my chagrin, I was unable to track down his alma mater. Anyway, the main attraction that night was Marilyn Monroe, who entered riding a pink elephant, her first public appearance since her divorce from Joe DiMaggio. Scott, now 78, took eight pictures of the Hollywood icon. They will be auctioned. Here’s one gleaned from Google Images:

According to an NYP article by Dr. Joel Zinberg, California has passed a bill “to censor what physicians can say about COVID-19 to their patients.” It seems “progressives” will not stop until government controls all aspects of life.

According to an NYP article by Ben Cost, a group of anglers believe doomsday is near. Mexican fisherman have caught an Oarfish, believed to be an omen that forecasts earthquakes. From NYP through AP, environmental paranoiacs strike again: “New Zealand’s government on Tuesday proposed taxing the greenhouse gasses that farm animals make from burping and peeing as part of a plan to tackle climate change.” Farmers are not happy — who would have guessed?

RIP actress Eileen Ryan, 94, whose career spanned 1955–2016. Born in NYC, half Irish, half Italian, there are 61 titles under her name at IMDb, most of them TV guest shots. She is the mom of Sean Penn and appeared in several of his films. Here are a few of her notable credits: the original The Twilight Zone, Parenthood (1989), Magnolia (1999). She was married to actor/prolific TV director Leo Penn for 40 years until his death in 1998. They had two other sons: actor Chris Penn, deceased, and musician Michael Penn. Photo from GI:
