No End in Sight

Almost everyone has been foolish during youth, some arrogant as well, so it wasn’t surprising when many took to Florida beaches on spring break despite the growing pandemic. It was annoying but understandable. But what’s up with the adults throwing big parties these days? Are they devil worshipers or simply devil may care? Probably the latter. And what about all those folks licking and coughing on objects and people? WTF? This morning radio talk show host Masrk Simone had an appropriate term for such people: Covidiots. Kudos. Here’s someone at the top of that list, from a headline at foxnews.com: “Man dresses as bush to sneak out during coronavirus lockdown.” And here are more, also from FN: “Wisconsin college students return home from spring break with coronavirus.”… Newsman Joe Bartlett remarked that he expects a lot of women will be sporting gray hair soon due to the closing of beauty parlors… The FDA has issued a limited, emergency-use authorization for chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine. Once again President Trump was way ahead of the curve… Often excoriated by elites, “Walmart hiring 5000 associates a day during coronavirus pandemic.”… All deaths due to Corona are sad, but some strike on a personal level. Bassey Offiong, 25, a senior majoring in chemical engineering at Western Michigan University, had no known prior health issues before succumbing. I’m a graduate of WMU, 1971. RIP, young man.

I was going to CVS for some milk and Honey Nut Cherrios, which I have every morning, but paused when I saw a line outside. I was curious to see if the same was the case at Stop n Shop, so I headed there. No, despite the fact that there were probably at least five times as many people inside than at CVS. Here’s a pic. Two of my best customers are in it, The Quiet Man in orange, Professor Spunt obscured by the telephone pole:

I feel compelled to mention something unrelated to the virus, although everything pales in comparison to it right now. When NBC’s Manifest sticks to its main storyline, it is interesting sci-fi. When it takes weepy segues, which it has done too often lately, it is nauseating.

I’m banging away at the thriller I’ve begun. I still don’t think it will be long enough to be considered a novel. I would guess there would be 50 pages right now in five-by-eight format in MS Word.
