Happy Valentine’s Day.
From a great article by Raquel Laneri at nypost.com, edited by yours truly: “In 2012 an Oregon mom opened a package of Halloween decorations she bought at Kmart. Inside, she found a neatly written note in blue ink: ‘Please kindly resend this letter to the World Human Right[s] Organization. Thousands [of] people here who are under the persecution of the Chinese Communist Party Government will thank and remember you forever.’” Eventually she contacted a newspaper. It inspired a documentary and this book:

Also from NYP, an article by Brad Hamilton about a book that “provides 45 first-person accounts from service members of all stripes, young and old, men and women, infantry to high command, from the 1990s through today.”
Has the physical damage done during the capitol riot ever been estimated in terms of actual dollars? Are leaders reluctant to make it public?
People are criticizing the niece of Kamala Harris for profiting on her aunt’s name. Doesn’t she know that sort of behavior is reserved for politicians?
From foxbusiness.com: “Bumble founder and CEO Whitney Wolfe Herd became the world’s youngest self-made woman billionaire this week after shares of the dating app company soared during its initial public offering.” She’s 31. Her 12% stake in the company is worth $1.6 billion.
My thanks to the gentleman who bought two self help books, and to the woman who did a five-for-one swap of Russians books; and to the young woman who donated a cache of young adult fare; and to whoever purchased Killing at Amazon, although I won’t see any royalty from the sale.
