Oh Doctor!

From an article at foxnews.com, rewritten by yours truly: Playboy Bunnies have a certain image, and intelligence has little to do with it. Of course, there are exceptions to every rule and Danielle Lupo is one. She has worked in the health field for ten years, all while continuing Hugh Hefner’s legacy and even doing a spread for the Czech version of the famous magazine. She left out her last name so people wouldn’t be able to google the pics. I’m not sure that will hold now that the bunny is out of the bag. She says in an article at the sun.co.uk: “After just graduating last year I’m looking at medical schools and doctoral programs all while working as a cardiographic technician.” I wonder how male heart patients would react at the first appointment with her. Fred Sanford might say: “I’m comin’, Elizabeth!” Here’s the brainy beauty:

Here’s an interesting headline from nypost.com: “Parents are dropping $150K on luxury summer camps for their kids.” It’s great to be able to afford such largess, but I wonder if they worry at all about spoiling them. Would repeated spending on items and such give them an exaggerated sense of entitlement? I have never been nor will ever be in a position to find out. It must be tricky for the rich to raise children. Then again, it is for every parent, just in different ways.

It would be difficult to top this foxnews.com headline in terms of humor: “Ex-soccer player once claimed he was late to practice in Chile because he was abducted by aliens, former teammate says.” Scully!

Some folks are raising a stink about Trump’s upcoming rally. Call it a protest and all will be forgiven — not! Someone has filed a lawsuit to stop it, citing Corona concerns. I wonder if that person has filed one to stop protests. There were one million requests for twenty thousand tickets. I hope that’s a positive sign for November. More than that, I hope there’s truly a silent majority fed up with the constant nonsense.

The perp in the Atlanta shooting was stupid, but I have a real problem with shooting someone — in the back — who was going to be charged with simple drunkenness.

It was another good day for the floating book shop. First off, it was cloudy when I stepped outside just before eleven, so I didn’t have to carry wares to the shade on the other side of East 13 and Avenue Z. My thanks to Satya, who contacted me on Facebook last night and delivered a box filled with about 30 books. Three of those sold. One led to a magic moment. A woman in her 30’s asked if I ever came across books on tarot reading to set them aside for her, as she’d recently bought a set of the cards. Sure enough, there was one in the box. She was ecstatic. I love when stuff like that happens. My thanks, and also to the woman who purchased a book in Russian, and to the one who chose Danielle Steel’s Changes; and to Ira, who selected a Nat Geo showcase and a large pictorial of beautiful art work that was so old its original price was a buck. That was donated, along with several cookbooks, by Marie, an artist, just minutes earlier. I gave her a sketchbook as a thank you, and she really appreciated it. And the home attendant of the Braniac Brothers also chipped in several books on spirituality, and received two in return.
