I often post the positives of AI. Here’s a negative. From NYP: “AI Overviews allegedly responded to ‘how many rocks should a child eat?’ by falsely claiming UC Berkeley geologists recommend ‘eating at least one small rock per day.’” Scary.

From NYP: “Woman obsessed with Legos builds 6-foot-tall doghouse for her pets.” Woof-woof!

Three years ago the UK’s Charlie Tallott attempted suicide. He spent months in the care of a crisis team and used photography as a refuge. He is the winner of the 2024 Photo London X Nikon Emerging Photographer award. Here is one of his pictures, titled Ask for Love and You Won’t Get It, posted at the guardian.com. My thanks to the woman who delivered four DVDs in Russian, and to Wolf, who bought them all plus The Black Swan (2010) and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011), and to the young mom who purchased an unusual mix: an Iris Johansen thriller, The Negro Baseball Leagues: Tales of Umpiring Legendary Players, Breaking Barriers, and Making American History by Bob Motley, Byron Motley, et al. and a hardcover in Russian; and to the young man who chose a Gap Band CD and My Name Is Asher Lev by Chaim Potok.
