Proof
From an article at foxnews.com, edited by yours truly: Does the punishment fit the crime? An Iowa man who set fire to a church LGBTQ flag was sentenced to more than 15 years in prison. Anyone who burns Old Glory gets a slap on the wrist. WTF?
Four pedestrians have been struck and killed by vehicles in NYC the past 16 hours. None of the drivers was charged. Don’t be surprised if Mayor Red Billy de Blasio demands the speed limit be lowered to 20.
Here’s a list of TV shows that have been cancelled or will end in 2020. Since I don’t have cable, I’ve never seen most of them. I’d take a look at the dramas if they went into syndication:
13 Reasons Why (Netflix) — Never seen it. The theme of suicide never works for me.
The 100 (The CW) Never seen it.
The Affair (Showtime) Ditto.
Arrow (The CW) Seen and liked a couple of episodes.
Ballers (HBO) Only vaguely recall title. Is it about sex?
Bastards (Apple TV+) Never heard of it even though it stars Richard Gere.
Blindspot (NBC) Episode one was as good as TV gets. Standard action series from there until I lost track of it when it was moved to Friday, my movie fix night.
BoJack Horseman (Netflix) I don’t know what it is, but I just can’t get into animation.
Born This Way (A&E) Never heard of it.
Claws (TNT) Ditto.
Corporate (Comedy Central) Ditto.
Criminal Minds (CBS) Watched the first four seasons, then asked myself why. It’s the same thing week after week — catch the psychopath.
Dark (Netflix) Never heard of it.
Dear White People (Netflix) No interest.
The Durrells in Corfu (PBS) Whizzed by it with the remote many times.
EastSiders (Netflix) Never heard of it.
The End of the F***king World (Netflix) Ditto.
Empire (FOX) No interest.
Fresh Off the Boat (ABC) Great title. For some bizarre reason my over-the-air antenna doesn’t pick up channel seven.
Fuller House (Netflix) No interest.
Future Man (Hulu) Never heard of it.
Glitch (Netflix) Ditto.
GLOW (Netflix) No interest.
The Good Place (NBC) Never got around to it.
Homeland (Showtime) Heard a lot of good things about it. Maybe I’ll rent a disc if my movie list is exhausted.
Homicide Hunter: Lt Joe Kenda (Investigation Discovery) Sounds interesting.
How to Get Away with Murder (ABC) Watched a couple of episodes — hated it.
Liar (SundanceTV) Never heard of it.
Looking for Alaska (Hulu</>) Ditto.
Lucifer (Netflix) Gave an episode a few minutes when it was on Fox. Couldn’t get into it.
Madam Secretary (CBS) Love Tea Leone, hate politics.
The Man in the High Castle (Amazon) Don’t like alternative history.
Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD (ABC) The only time I ever gave up on a show because of its dark, arty lighting.
Marvel’s Ghost Rider (Hulu) Never heard of it.
Marvel’s Runaways (Hulu) Ditto.
Modern Family (ABC) Heard a lot of good things about it, but I now boycott gay characters whenever possible.
Mr. Robot (USA Network) Never heard of it.
Mrs. Fletcher (HBO) Ditto.
Muppets Live Another Day (Disney+) Not a fan of kids’ shows.
Poldark (PBS) Don’t know why, but I never watched the first incarnation either.
Power (Starz) Never heard of it.
Preacher (AMC) Ditto.
The Ranch (Netflix) Ditto.
Schitt’s Creek (Pop) Great title. Never heard of the channel.
Silicon Valley (HBO) Love the products they create. Hope it gets syndicated.
The Spanish Princess (Starz) Run it on PBS, please.
Strike Back (Cinemax) Never heard of it.
Suits (USA Network) More lawyers.
Sunnyside (NBC) No interest.
Supernatural (The CW) Watched one or two episodes during its 15 year run. Didn’t grab me like The X-Files did.
Tin Star (Amazon) Never heard of it.
Trinkets (Netflix) Ditto.
Unrelated (Freeform) Ditto.
Vikings (History) Hope it gets syndicated.
Will & Grace (NBC) No way.
You Me Her (AT&T Audience Network) Never heard of it.
Here’s the Christmas present I’ve been awaiting — the first proof copy of my latest book:
It was a gorgeous day to sell books on the street. My thanks to the young Latina who bought An Angel for Christmas by Heather Graham, and to the gentleman who chose a book in Russian; and to Tatianna, who usually buys art pictorials or cook books. Today she passed on those and took a chance on Billionths of a Lifetime, which made my day.
