Headline from nypost.com: “16th-century ‘vampire’ buried with brick in her mouth — to stop blood-sucker from eating the dead.” According to the article by Alex Mitchell, it was discovered on the Venetian island of Lazzaretto Nuovo. Fun times.

You may want to look away from this next headline. From NYP: “Stomach-turning discovery: Live 12-inch eel removed from Vietnamese man’s abdomen after it slid up his anus.” A fresh angle for sci-fi writers.

Trillion-dollar spending package — business as usual in DC. Dems win again.

ISIS, still monsters. Will the anti-Israel crowd support them as they do the Hamas murderers?

I’ve discovered another actor who had an amazing run. There are 657 titles under Tom London’s name at IMDb. That places him third on my unofficial list of Hollywood’s most prolific players, behind Bess Flowers (913) and Harold Miller (678), five ahead of Franklyn Farnum. Born Leonard T. Clapman in Louisville, his career spanned 1915-’63. A trick horse rider, his specialty was westerns, but he appeared outside the genre in All Quiet on the Western Front (1931) and the 1943 Batman serial, to name two. Most of his roles are listed as “uncredited,” non-speaking parts where he may have been seen only briefly in the background. In 1952 he began appearing in TV shows, largely in westerns, but also in The Adventures of Superman and Perry Mason. Fittingly, his swan song came in a 1963 episode of The Dakotas, the year of his death at 74. He is listed in the Guiness Book of World Records for having appeared in more films than any other actor (into the thousands). I assume the discrepancy between that number and IMDb’s stems from the fact that hundreds of the appearances have yet to be verified. Married three times, London did not have children. Awesome, Sir. Kudos. Photo from GI:

The floating book shop was rained out. I proofed a couple of stories in my By the Numbers file, which has surpassed 20,000 words, still short of a decent sized print copy. I also tried to generate an AI cover for it and again failed to make any headway.
