Defiance continues. Photo from nypost.com of a weekend gathering in Prospect Park, Brooklyn. Of course the crowd, estimated in the thousands, left a lot of litter behind. Surprisingly — no was killed!

And on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, woke residents nostalgic for the NYC of pre-Giuliani left a message for the homeless camping out in their neck of the woods:

Here’s a headline from foxnews.com: “Black Lives Matter holds rally in Chicago to support those arrested after looting, unrest. “That is reparations,” a BLM organizer said. “Anything they wanted to take, they can take it because these businesses have insurance.”

The Dem VP pick is official. The secondmost corrupt politician in history has selected a woman who succeeded the old fashion way, humping her way to the top. I guess Kamala Harris has come to the conclusion that Biden isn’t a racist after all, which she all but declared during one of the debates. I suppose the move was designed to regain the Black vote, even though it offers no help capturing another state that is up for grabs. California is a lock for Dems. Man, Susan Rice must have some serious baggage to have been bypassed.

Let’s add sanity to the proceedings. Christie Brinkley is 66:

The NHL playoffs are about to begin. If ever a sport delivers out of left field results, it’s pro hockey. Given the long layoff, I won’t be surprised if the outcome is very unusual.

I hadn’t seen the Frenchman since pre-pandemic. I’m glad he’s okay. As usual, he went the intellectual route: Tolstoy’s Anna Karenina and two works of non-fiction by Primo Levi. My thanks, and also to the woman who selected three books in Russian; and to the woman who purchased Bright Minds, Poor Grades: Understanding and Motivating your Underachieving Child
by Michael D. Whitley; and to Ira, who surprised me by buying up the six books on pro wrestlers local porter Rob gave me yesterday. I’d thought he was interested only in the old timers. Three of the books were on Chris Jericho, and one each on Mick Foley, The Rock and Lita, with whom I was completely unfamiliar, the same for several of the names of current WWE talent Ira rattled off. He’s still watching. He even knew that Kamala (James Harris of Mississippi), 70, who had been in ill health for decades, had succumbed to Corona. It brings to mind one of the greatest adlibs ever. Mean Gene Okerland was interviewing the Ugandan Giant’s manager, the legendary Classie Freddie Blassie. Just when it appeared the two had run out of commentary, Blassie followed a pregnant pause with: “The only man ever to defeat Idi Amin, when he was a mere stripling of a boy, 14-years-old.” The look on Okerlund’s face was priceless. In another interview the so-called Hollywood Fashion Plate promised Kamala would “eat Chief Jay Strongbow feathers and all.” How I miss his lunacy. RIP, Mr. Harris. Thank you.
