Will the left finally stop coddling criminals? Here are excerpts from an article by David Marcus at nypost.com. The first concerns ex-NBA great, liberal icon Bill Walton, a supporter of Black Lives Matter: “Once again, while peacefully riding my bike early this Sunday morning in Balboa Park, I was threatened, chased, and assaulted by the homeless population in our park. Once again, you’ve done, and continue to do, nothing.” And: “… two progressive lawmakers — one in Illinois and one in Pennsylvania — were both carjacked within just a couple of hours of each other.” My guess is Dems will have to do a 180 — or pretend to — on this issue to retain power. Even then, inflation might doom them. They’re alienating so many voters that even their skill at ballot fraud might not help them hold seats.

NYP headline: “Nowhere to run: Putin sends soldiers to border to stop Russians trying to flee draft.”

From an NYP article by Jesse O’Neill and Allie Griffin on knocking an asteroid off course: “DART smashed into Dimorphos and successfully knocked it out of its 12-hour orbit, scientists say.” Just like in the movies. Well done, although I’ve heard in a radio report that it’s still not known if the path has changed. Whatever, the fact that scientists were able to hit a target millions of miles away is impressive.

Perhaps nothing attests to the legitimacy of Bitcoin and the like than this headline from NYP: “On the grid: IRS goes to court to step up tax collection on cryptocurrency profits.”

From NYP: “This student is only the second person in the world to earn perfect AP Calculus score.” Meet Indiana’s Felix Zhang. Kudos, kiddo. Photo from Google Images:

Uh-oh, headline from newsmax.com: “Report: Inflation, Supply Chain Malaise Could Result in Beer, Candy Shortages.” Talk about angry voters!

And for those who believe WWIII has already started, more fodder for the argument in this foxnews.com headline: “Germany warned by CIA of possible attack on Nord Stream gas pipeline weeks in advance: report.” Two explosions, neither caused by earthquakes.

Gorgeous day to do business curbside. My thanks to the woman who dropped off three novels, and to the one who bought five kids books and The Face of Fear by Dean Koontz; and to all those who purchased books in Russian.
