World War II veterans Benjamin Berry and Jacob Ruser fought at the Battle of the Bulge in the winter of 1944–45. U.S. Army Cpl. Berry, 100, and PFC Ruser, 98, were the grand marshals of the Philadelphia Veterans Parade & Festival, which took place earlier today. Photos from Google Images:

Interesting session of the floating book shop on this mild day more like early fall. It looked like a goose egg was in the works when young Mikhail came along and bought Feeling Good: The New Mood Therapy by David D. Burns, Heroes, Gods and Monsters Of The Greek Myths by Bernard Evslin & William Hofmann, and my Coincidence and Exchanges. My thanks, and also to the young mom who purchased Black Hole, a kid’s book for her beautiful scooter-riding little girl. I was almost finished packing up when two black guys came along. When one picked out a Russian DVD and asked if I had change of twenty, I lied. When he asked if I had change of a five, I said I had a bad day. Call me a racist, I don’t care.
