Returns
We’re saved, America. Former NYC mayor Michael Bloomberg (RINO) has entered the presidential field of Dems running for president. He and Biden are viewed as moderates, which is laugh out loud funny. At least he earned his riches legitimately, as opposed to shaking down people in quid pro quo schemes. And Bloomberg can finance his own campaign, fly around in one of several jets he owns, or ride in one of his several gas guzzlers and, when he needs a break, stay at one his many huge residences — all while warning the public about the perils of fossil fuels, and promising to tax soft drinks and fast food.
CGI is a marvel, making special effects look realistic. Here’s a new use for it, according to an article at FN, edited by yt: James Dean will be digitally inserted into Finding Jack, based on Gareth Crocker’s 2011 novel about Vietnam. It’s got my attention. Even if reviewers bash it, I may not be able to resist renting it.
From foxnews.com, edited by yours truly: In 2018 about 63,000 New Yorkers fled to Florida, approximately the same number as the previous year; 18,290 left Connecticut, 20,314 Massachusetts, 30,100 New Jersey, 31,712 Pennsylvania. On the left coast, 86,160 left California for Texas, 68,516 for Arizona, 55,460 for the state of Washington, and 50,700 for Nevada. The main reason is high taxes. Cue Bob Marley: “Exodus, movement of the people…”
Life never ceases to fascinate, as the following from an article at FN, edited by yt, manifests: “An Iowa judge rejected an appeal from a convicted murderer who argued that because he suffered a medical emergency in 2015 — and died momentarily — he had completed his life-sentence and since then has been unjustly held behind bars the past four years. He had signed a “do not resuscitate” order years earlier. Despite this, doctors administered resuscitation fluids through an IV and performed life-saving surgery.” I’m tempted to say let him go and arrest the MD’s, or have them foot the bill for the guy’s incarceration.
When I’m out selling books and someone says “I’ll be back,” it’s an almost 100% certainly he/she won’t be. Today a young beauty, early 20’s, slight Russian accent, was one of the one-percent who return. She bought J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Charles Dickens’ A Tale of Two Cities, and The Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger . I asked for five bucks. She gave me twenty. I showed my appreciation by giving her a copy of A Hitch in Twilight. My thanks, and also to the woman who purchased Star Wars Episode One The Phantom Menace by Terry Brooks; and to the gentleman who selected two kids’ books; and to the woman who chose a book in Russian. I was in the sun and out of the wind. Bundled up, I didn’t feel cold even at the end of the session. Of course, the media’s weather folks acted as if the temperature had never been so low.
