I’m goin’ shoppin’. Men’s ready-to-wear fall/winter 2024–25 collection, Paris fashion week, photo by Alain Jocard/AFP/Getty Images, posted at theguardian.com:
This nypost.com headline may be the most amusing of the day: “Passenger trapped in airplane bathroom for entire flight gets note from attendant: ‘Sir, we tried our best’.” Let’s hear from Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, photo from Google Images:
Is the left succeeding in changing the character of America? From NYP: “Gen Z is killing cars by refusing to drive — why they think it ‘doesn’t seem that necessary’.” I’d be surprised if this is the case outside big cities.
More evidence WWIII is underway. From NYP: “Pakistan launches strikes inside Iran against militant targets.”
Reports claim inflation has subsided or, at least, leveled off. This morning at Stop n Shop the Del Monte fruit cup had gone in a matter of days from $1.69 to $1.99 and the house fruit bars from $2.89 to $3.49.
For some reason, vinyl record sales keep increasing, pretension perhaps. Anyway. From a story by Eli Ellison & Tony Adame at www.msn.com, here are the top five most valuable vinyl records, original pressings:

4. The Beatles, Yesterday and Today, Year: 1966, Format: 12-inch vinyl, 33–1/3 rpm, Value: $234,000.
3. Quarrymen, In Spite of All the Danger/That’ll Be The Day (Lennon, McCartney, Harrison, others, pre-Ringo), Year: 1958, Format: 10-inch acetate, 78 rpm, Value: $260,000.
2. Elvis Presley, My Happiness/That’s When Your Heartache Begins, Year: 1953, Format: 10-inch acetate, 78 rpm, Value: $300,000.

Don’t do this at home. Headline from foxnews.com: “Supermodel Beverly Johnson admits she used cocaine to stay thin, ate just a bowl of rice and two eggs a week.” Here’s what she looks like at present, now 71, photo from GI:
It’s Get to Know Your Customers Day. Given the dismal forecast through the weekend, I decided to open up the floating book shop despite the lack of sunshine and temperature hovering around the freezing point. I put out a third of the inventory and told myself I would leave before I experienced a chill. Of course I sat in the car waiting for customers. My thanks to the young man who parked his bike and bought three books in Russian, and to the lovely woman who purchased one; and to the gentleman who overcompensated me for The Encyclopedia of Great Composers and Their Music by Milton Cross; and to my Constant Benefactress, who took home The Human Stain by Philip Roth. And all the while I looked forward to getting back to the short story I’ve begun. A good day —I am blessed.
