If only this could be done with the politician’s plaguing us. Photo from Google Images:

The following excerpt from a nypost.com editorial would once have demoralized me: “… the government gave unemployment benefits to the incarcerated, the imaginary and the dead and paid people who were on the government’s ‘Do Not Pay List.’ The Government Accountability Office flagged $281 billion in ‘improper payments’ in 2021 alone.” When I’m thinking right these days, I remind myself that the left has won and ridiculous spending is permanent, and fraud expected and accepted by elites, therefore it is worth only a shrug. Unfortunately, many leftists seem to accept the violence that’s sweeping across America as a natural byproduct of what they perceive is fairness… And this from the piece that followed: “There is more outstanding student debt in Washington than in any other city in the country.” Anyone surprised?

Headline from foxnews.com: “Officials outraged as migrants bused from Texas occupy 14 NYC hotels.” Love it!

Here’s good news from FN: “Combo ‘polypill’ cuts heart disease deaths, new study finds.” The accompanying article by Amy McGorry reveals that researchers in Barcelona found a 33% reduction of a second heart attack in those who had suffered a first. Kudos.

Another gem from the Staten Island goombah. Photo from foxnews.com:

I’m glad the DOJ took time-out from its Trump harassment to get real work done. Headline from FN: “New Mexico man indicted for allegedly trying to establish ‘Islamic State Center’.” Kudos.

Let’s hope there’s more of the following, headline from newsmax.com: “CBS: Russian Paratrooper Disgusted With War Has Defected.”

I failed to connect with this week’s movie fix from Netflix by mail. Based on the novel The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness, who co-wrote the screenplay, Chaos Walking (2021) seems gobbledygook. Maybe I just wasn’t in the mood for it. Set more than 200 years in the future, it’s the story of a female astronaut who crash lands in an area where all women have been killed. The effects are the best aspect. 47,000+ users at IMDb have rated Chaos Walking, forging to a consensus of 5.7 on a scale of ten. It was a disaster at the box office, returning $26 million on a budget of $125 million. It runs 1:49. The violence is sanitized. I don’t recall much profanity. Here are the leads, Tom Holland & Daisy Ridley, both of the UK:

For the second straight session the floating book shop had only one sale. My thanks to the gentleman who bought the Chinese-English Dictionary.
