Will this change anything? Headline from nypost.com: “Ex-NY Gov. David Paterson, stepson attacked by gang of young suspects while walking their dog on UES: sources.”
Excerpt from an NYP editorial: “Elon Musk is sending in hundreds of Starlink satellite systems to areas hit hardest by Hurricane Helene, saving lives as FEMA falters in its own mission. It’s a triumph of modern innovation: The devices connect to low-orbiting satellites, allowing first responders to communicate and providing 30 days of free internet access to residents of storm-ravaged areas who’d otherwise be completely cut off. Of course, as Musk himself pointed out, Starlink likely would’ve already been up and running in some of these areas if the Harris-Biden Federal Communications Commission hadn’t slammed the breaks on a $885 million grant to SpaceX to provide broadband to rural communities back in 2022. That Musk needs to step in at all is another indictment of Harris-Biden bungling.” Kudos, Sir.
Duh! From NYP: “The next ‘bipartisan border bill’ needs to target the 600K migrant criminals now roaming the country.”
More good news on the cultural from. From NYP: “Toyota latest to scrap DEI policies, giving anti-woke activist another win.”
Wow! A poll shows 69% of New Yorkers believe Mayor Adams should resign. He won the election by a margin just shy of 67%.
Miranda Lambert has joined fellow country music stars Dolly Parton and Eric Church in hurricane relief. Not only has she donated $100,000, she has created a fundraiser, which has brought in more than $18,000 so far. Kudos. Photo from Google Images:
If you haven’t heard Lambert’s Mama’s Broken Heart, here’s the video. Follow the terrific lyrics written by Brandy Clark, Shane McAnally and Kacey Musgraves. It hit #2 on the country chart and #20 on the Hot 100. It’s become one of my favorites. I’d categorize it as pop/rock, not country. “… hide your crazy…”:

Among today’s many celebrations, it’s Bookshop Day. Unfortunately, the public seemed not to know this regarding the Anti-Inflation Book Shop. My thanks to the woman who donated a couple of books in Russian, and to my Constant Benefactress, who had mercy on me, buying Anne Frank’s Tales from the Secret Annex: A Collection of Her Short Stories, Fables, and Lesser-Known Writings and this gem, photo from amazon.com:
