Wilkes-Barre, Pa., AP photo:

Headline from nypost.com: “Woman who slept with 300 people in a year ‘punished’ by $400K tax bill: ‘I could’ve bought a house’.” Discretion is the better part of value, Madam. In other words — shh! Stop bragging publicly.

Sad reality from NYP: “Target’s sales bounced back after closing crime-prone stores — and other chains could do the same.”

Never let facts get in the way of leftists’ arguments. Excerpt from an NYP editorial: “Both ‘prices paid by businesses’ and consumers ‘have risen 19.4 percent under the Biden-Harris administration.’” It’s not gouging — or “gauging” — as Harris calls it. It’s high gas prices and government overspending.

Excerpt from NYP editorial: “Chicago’s tax base is decreasing, not increasing. The population has declined for nine consecutive years, is shrinking by an annual rate of 1 percent, and is at its lowest point in more than a century.” There are zero Republicans on the 50-seat City Council.

Fun headline from newsmax.com: “Dems Spoke for Middle Class, Partied Like the 1 Percent.”

A win for the good guys. Headline from foxnews.com: “VIDEO: Texas machete-wielding man’s intrusion into home thwarted by gun owner.” No shots fired. Kudos, Sir.

This morning I added approximately a hundred words to a story in the By the Numbers file. Since publishing it as an ebook, I’ve added about 200 words total in various other pieces. I won’t republish yet. As I’ve said before, no book is ever finished.

A little warmer today, but still perfect for doing curbside business. My thanks to my Constant Benefactress, who dropped off a mix of DVDs and non-fiction and insisted on paying for Lasher by Anne Rice; and to Herbie, who bought two Debbie Macomber novels in hardcover; and to the gentleman who purchased Encyclopedia of Men’s Health: How to Prevent and Treat the Health Problems That Trouble Men Most by Neil Wertheimer, and 3D art of an elephant and Ironman, which his adolescent son selected; and to Wolf, who took home two Josh Groban CDs; and to the man who chose America’s Money-America’s Story by Richard G. Doty.
