Here’s a fun pic that popped up last night in an array at youtube, from Google Images:

Another clever headline from the New York Post: “Sports obliterated: Sports Illustrated lays off almost entire staff in bombshell letter’.” It’s bleeding money. Once published weekly, it’s been monthly since 2020.

Miracle in London, from NYP: “Hour-old baby found alive in shopping bag by dog walker in below-freezing temperatures: police.” Live long and prosper, little one.

I don’t know if this is a new term, but I’d never heard it before today. From a Google search: Tradwife — a woman who believes in and practices traditional sex roles and marriages.

From NYP: “Merda! Italian province orders all pooches DNA tested in poop pick-up crackdown.” I bet officers are thrilled to be assigned to that detail.

RIP Mary Weiss, lead singer of The Shangri-La's, 75. Born in Jamaica Queens, she sang in school plays and choir. She and her sister Betty and a pair of twins were singing at local dances and hops when spotted by a local producer. After doing demos, they made it to the iconic Brill Building and signed a recording contract. The beautiful Remember (Walking in the Sand) hit #5 in 1964, the rousing Leader of the Pack went to #1 that same year and Give Him a Great Big Kiss went to #18. My favorite of their tracks, the haunting I Can Never Go Home Anymore (“Mama!”), made it to # 5 in ’65. Seven other tracks cracked the top 100. Their original run essentially ended in ’69. They reunited briefly in the late ’70s. Those top ten hits sound as great now as they did back in the day. Mary became a purchasing agent and was successful in the furniture business. She returned to music in 2005, released a solo album in ’07 and toured the USA and Spain and France. While the record did not sell well, critics were kind. Married twice, she was childless. Thank you so much, Madam. Facts from Wiki, photo from GI:

Cold and wind again put the kibosh on the floating book shop. I typed my latest story, Psych 101, into a word pad file. I’ll proof it tomorrow, then add it to my future book file at Google Docs.
