Paging Indiana Jones wannabes. Headline from nypost.com concerning India: “Unlock this ancient mystery from a lost civilization — and earn $1 million.” Photo from NYP:

Headline from NYP: “Target axes DEI initiatives in major policy reversal after Trump’s order on diversity programs.” Yay! May it continue with other companies.

I’m still optimistic about the president of Argentina. Headline from foxnews.com: “Milei tells elites exactly what he thinks about woke ideology in explosive Davos speech.” Hopefully politics won’t change him for the worse, as it has so many.

From FN concerning actor Jesse Eisenberg: “‘Social Network’ star questions tech elites as they pal around with Trump: Why not ‘do good things for the world?’.” I guess one is to infer that those friendly with DT are incapable of good deeds. Sounds like DTS.

RIP RB Calvin Jones, 53, believed to have succumbed to carbon monoxide poisoning. Born in Omaha, he attended the University of Nebraska and was third team All American in 1995, first team All Big Eight twice. As a redshirt freshman in ’91 he scored six TDs vs. Kansas. That year he averaged 8.3 yards per carry, leading the nation. Considered undersized, he was selected in the third round of the ’94 draft by the Raiders, the 80th pick overall. He did not see much action in his three-year career, but he had the great fortune of being a member of the Packers ’96 team, which defeated the Patriots in Super Bowl XXXI. Post-career, he was involved in mentoring and youth football. I was unable to find any info on family. Gone way too soon. Photo from Google Images.

I’ve proofed the first four of the eleven stories in the By the Numbers paperback. No errors so far. I’ve gone over the first nine many times, the last two only a few times. Fingers crossed.

Not much activity at the Anti-Inflation Book Shop on this beautiful but cold day. My thanks to Cabbie, who did a swap of paperback thrillers, and to Lynn, who bought Hearts in Atlantis by Stephen King.
