What a turnaround in the Dem race. Suddenly the nomination looks as if it’s Biden’s to lose. The 775 super-delegates at the convention will tilt heavily toward him. Can Sanders make up that much ground? It looks like Obama will be spared the potential embarrassment of having to endorse his former VP. There will be a lot of drama regarding whether Biden’s mental faculties will hold up long enough to get him elected. There are likely to be gaffes galore. WOR radio talk show host Mark Simone’s morning-after analysis made sense. Those who would have voted for Buttigieg or Klubuchar, who both dropped out at the behest of the DNC, went with Biden, and at the same time the DNC footed the bill to keep Warren in the race, to keep her supporters from turning to Sanders. The best aspect of the night was the paltry support for Bloomberg, who has spent roughly $550 million to buy the presidency. Think of the good such money might have done for veterans’ hospitals or disease research, etc..

Doomsday scenarists are now 0–41. Here’s an updated list from the WOR radio page of Mark Simone:

With the wind howling at my usual nook, I decided to take the floating book shop to my alternate site. It looked like a mistake, as parking didn’t open up for 45 minutes. I was not optimistic but quickly sold a textbook on organizational skills to young Bek, and moments later a woman who had bought recorded material in the past jumped on the DVD box set of In Search of…, which was hosted by Leonard Nimoy, and five discs in the Japanese manga series Naruto, as well as a little self-help book on boosting morale. My thanks, and also to the woman who purchased two hardcover mysteries by Walter Mosley for her husband, and Into the Dark (The Cincinnati Series Book 5) by Karen Rose for herself; and to the woman who always asks for religious material, who selected Daily Guideposts 2016: A Spirit-Lifting Devotional; and to the student who is looking into becoming a dog walker, who chose The Well-Trained Dog: A Complete Authoritative Guide by Elisabeth Schnabel; and to the woman who settled her minuscule tab. Some days you just get lucky.
