Interesting headline from newsmax.com: “Study: Closing Baltimore Bars Early Cuts Murders 40 Percent.” It’s not total prohibition. Sounds like a common sense approach.

I’m amused by the progressives’ joy concerning the votes cast against Biden. Would another Democrat’s policies be any different? In the same vein, Haley and DeSantis picked up votes yesterday from Never Trumpers. I don’t know what a second DT term would be like, but in his first he actually governed like a Republican, so rare. Neither Nixon nor the Bushes did. Only Reagan did.

RIP actress Barbara Baldavin, 85. Born in Massachusetts, she studied at the Lee Strasberg Institute in Manhattan. There are 33 titles under her name at IMDb, a misleading figure, as she did 52 episodes alone of Medical Center. She worked almost exclusively on TV. She will be remembered most for her three appearances on the original Star Trek. She also played the murderer’s secretary on an episode of Columbo. Her screen career ended in 1993. All the while she had been working behind the scenes in casting, and that continued until 2000. She was a mom of two. Well done, Madam. Photo from Google Images:

Because of the wind and rain, I did most of my morning walk under a scaffold, the equivalent of two city blocks, back and forth until the rain let up a bit and I broke away for a brief stroll. As boring as it was, the air was brisk and refreshing and seemed so clean. Maybe the frequent breezes have purified it. The Anti-Inflation Book Shop remained on the shelf. I filled time by defrosting the fridge and making a shopping trip to CVS, where I stocked up on vitamins, which are locked up these crime-ridden days. And I added a few lines to my latest short story, Zero. I peeked at tomorrow’s weather chart. The forecast is for no rain. May it be so.
