Credit State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli with the following move, headline from nypost.com: “New York pulls $111M in pension funds from Ben & Jerry’s over boycott of Israel-occupied territories.” Kudos.

Headline from newsmax.com: “Rutgers’ ‘ProfessorCrunk’ Hails CRT, Wants to Take White ‘Mother****ers’ Out.” Her name is actually Brittney Cooper and her salary is $114,248.95. Crunk is a term from Dirty South rappers that means ‘crazy, drunk.’” Glad to see tax dollars well spent. Meanwhile, why isn’t the left clamoring to move the World Series from Atlanta, same as the All-Star game? Has the Election Integrity Act of 2021 been repealed in the interim?

Headline from Yahoo Sports: “NAACP urges athletes to avoid signing with Texas teams over restrictive state laws.” Maybe someday it will say something about the epidemic of black on black violence.

I broke out my second warmest jacket and had four layers beneath it to prepare for today’s wind. My thanks to the kind folks who donated, swapped and bought books. Here’s what sold: a pictorial on Versailles in Russian, Burnt Sienna, a thriller by David Morrell; The Corsican by William Heffernan; Babi-Yar, a novel about the Ukraine pogrom by Anatoly Kuznetsov; and four volumes of Yiddish writer Sholem Aleichem, birth name Solomon Naumovich Rabinovich. The pseudonym translates to “Peace be upon you.” Born in the Ukraine, he brought his family to America in 1905. His Wiki profile lists nine novels, one young adult title, an auto-bio and twelve plays. Ten of his works have been translated into English. His Tevye’s Daughters was the inspiration for Fiddler on the Roof. He was the grandfather of Bel Kaufman, who wrote the best seller Up the Down Staircase. He passed away at 57 in 1916.

There was entertainment at today’s session of the book shop, courtesy of one-man-band Ira. Among the selections were Hava Nagila and Love Theme from The Godfather.
