Shooting Beaver & More
Shooting beaver — moon, that is. It’s the time of year when beavers start sheltering in their lodges after having prepared food stores for the winter. “Gee, Dad.” Photo by Gary Hershorn/Getty Images, posted at theguardian.com:
Get to work sci-fi writers. Headline from nypost.com: “Google AI chatbot threatens student asking for homework help, saying: ‘Please die’.” That certainly takes tough love to an extreme.
I wonder if Trump has made the Gaetz and RFK picks as a thanks for loyalty, believing neither will be confirmed.
I’ve started using X (Twitter) again, since Elon Musk is an advocate of free speech, unlike the previous owner. I’ve posted once a day. It still feels like shameless self-promotion, even when I tout only the book shop.
My web visits have been frustrating lately. I’ve cleared the cache, the recycle bin and temporary files, so my hunch is the T-Mobile connection has been weak. Any page with photos or graphics takes forever to load. A restart helps only a little. I don’t believe it’s a virus. It’s like the dial-up days. Funny, I moved the tower over six inches and it seems the connection is stronger. Maybe it’s just a fluke.
Headline from foxnews.com: “Beatles’ AI-assisted song’s Grammy nom could ‘push the limit’ on interest in new tech.” Judge for yourself: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XJ469FeWoqM Photo from Google Images:

A bit too windy but another beautiful day and the Anti-Inflation Book Shop did well. My thanks to Sam, who donated three books, and to the guy who pulled his SUV to the curb and dropped off two large boxes filled with marketable stuff. The graphic novels are incredible, beautiful. Thanks also to the gentleman who bought two DVDs, and to the ladies who combined to buy three cookbooks; and to the gentleman who purchased The Armor of Light by Ken Follett; and to the woman who took home five kids’ books. I put about 20 of the new inventory and a dozen Russian hardcovers at the free kiosk. I left two bags hidden in the garden. If anyone spots and takes home the one with the pictorials, it will be a huge score.
