Short Takes

Ho-hum, another day in protest land: A Wisconsin state senator, a Democrat, was pummeled by a group after taking a picture, and left-wing icon reporter Andrea Mitchell was threatened by a weirdo dressed in a pink bra and panties. Her response? “Where are the police when you need them?” Karma is a witch.

There’s been another positive move forward in the case against General Michael Flynn. A federal appeals court has ordered a lower court to allow the case against the former National Security Adviser to be dismissed. Will this end the egregious miscarriage of justice? I wouldn’t hold my breath. The left will do all it can to delay a final resolution hoping a Biden win in November will allow those responsible for the travesty to avoid the comeuppance they so richly deserve.

Here’s an interesting headline from foxnews.com: “Oregon county’s coronavirus mask order exempts ‘people of color’ who have ‘heightened concerns about racial profiling.’”

Washington Redskins defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio took aim at critics who slammed him for supporting President Trump. Here’s one of his tweets: “I’m 100% for America, if you’re not you can kiss my A$$.” Kudos. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s fired given the current ass-kissing climate.

Here’s great news in an FN headline: “Senate confirms Trump’s 200th judge, all appeals vacancies filled.” Well done, sir.

It was a good day for the floating book shop. I barely recognized Marsha behind her mask. I had three Danielle Steel hardcovers on display, and she took out her three-page list of the titles she’s read. Fine Things wasn’t on it. My thanks, and also to Wolf, who returned for three more books in Russian and a set of paint brushes for his grandson; and to the gentleman who bought four thrillers, two by Walter Mosley and one each by Robert B. Parker and John D. McDonald, and In the Wake of the Plague: The Black Death and the World It Made by Norman F. Cantor; and to the woman who bought paperbacks by Judy Blume, Debbie Macomber and Jayne Loader; and to the guy straddling his bike who pounced on Duel: Terror Stories by Richard Matheson.
