Shrinkage

From an article by Eileen AJ Connelly at nypost.com: “A Chevron station in the coastal village of Mendocino about 175 miles north of San Francisco was charging $9.60 a gallon for regular on Friday afternoon.”

Fodder for sci-fi writers in this NYP headline: “Artificial intelligence spotted inventing its own creepy language.” Like the Nadsat used by the ultra-violent droogs in Anthony Burgess’ A Clockwork Orange. Seems like there are a lot of droogs around these days. Photo from Google Images.

Headline from an NYP editorial: “The political class is shrinking NY on purpose.” If only pols were as effective at everything else.

“I was in the pool!” Photo from GI.

Headline from newsmax.com: “White House Illuminated in Orange for Gun Violence Awareness.” Who isn’t aware of it?

Headline from foxnews.com: “Kim Kardashian says she might eat poop ‘every single day’ to look younger.” I’ll let the master respond, photo from GI:

Headline from foxbusiness.com: “Elon Musk asks why ‘leaking’ DOJ won’t spill Epstein client list: ‘Doesn’t that seem odd?’” One reason may be that Trump’s not on it. My guess is it’s filled with those friendly to the department. It will be leaked when the names shrink to zero.

My thanks to my only customer of the day, Bill Brown, author of Words and Guitar: A History of Lou Reed’s Music and other fine works, who bought The Plague Lord: Marco Polo investigates murder and intrigue in the Orient
by Paul Doherty. I’m trying to look on the bright side. The weather was perfect and the prime parking spot was available when I got to the neighborhood.
