“From there to here, from here to there, funny things are everywhere!” ― Dr. Seuss, One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish.

“Ye among you who has never uttered an untoward word, let him cast the first stone.” — Inherently racist white author Vic Fortezza

I read recently that the most common transmission of Corona occurs when a family member brings it home. Since we are told to follow the science, that makes it seem households of two or more should wear a mask at home. Anyway, today Jonathan, a student at Brooklyn Tech whose mom occasionally buys books from me, told me his entire family has tested positive. His dad has been working during the pandemic. He has two younger brothers. I almost made the mistake of saying “You’ll be fine.” How would I know that? I then said: “All the best.”

Since the wind was whipping at my usual book nook, I headed to my alternate site at Bay Parkway and 85th, in front of the Chase bank, which blocks most of the breeze. Despite the cold, I didn’t sit in the old Hyundai a single time to warm up. The sunshine provided plenty of warmth. My thanks to the gentelman and lady who bought four books in Russian between them, and to the young man who purchased three kids books; and to Johnny Boy’s mom, who delivered a donation of ten paperbacks, all but one bought from me. Observing Corona protocol, the woman, in her early eighties, left the bag at least 15 feet away.
