I spent most of today’s session of the Anti-inflation Book Shop outside the car, enjoying the mild temperature and schmoozing with passersby. My thanks to the ladies who donated three books each, and to the gentleman who bought five hardcovers in Russian; and to the woman who purchased one; and to the woman who for the second straight day chose a Weight Watcher’s cookbook; and to The Quiet Man, who took home two vinyl gems: a Marlene Dietrich album and the original soundtrack to The King and I, featuring Yul Brynner.
