Covid-schmovid: According to an article at nypost.com, NYC sheriff’s busted a Manhattan party of 400 in the wee hours. Four organizers were arrested. Here’s what was served:

Here’s an eye-opening headline from NYP: “Surprise exodus of Jewish Americans moving to once-hostile UAE.” They’re encouraged by the recent treaty with Israel.

The following snippet from an NYP article, edited by yours truly, should surprise no one: “The federal government’s improper Medicaid payments now exceed $100 billion a year… one-in-four dollars flowing out of the nation’s third-largest government program do not meet program rules.”

Season two, episode eleven of Combat!, Anatomy of a Patrol, ran last night on the Heroes & Icons channel, 9–4 on OTA’s in NYC. It features James Caan, a decade before he shot to fame as Sonny Corleone in The Godfather (1972), as a crafty Nazi officer, speaking German only, matching wits with Sgt. Saunders. Guess who prevails. The teleplay was written by husband and wife team Esther and Bob Mitchell, who contributed 17 scripts to the series, as well as scores of others to radio and TV shows. Bob served in the Pacific as a Lieutenant. He was shot in the chest and carried the bullet inside him the rest of his life. He passed away at 74 in 1992. Esther passed at 91 in 2012. According to an article at fighterzy.com, Caan had to call his parents, German Jewish immigrants, to help him speak the language. Here he is in character, 23 at the time, now 80:
