Most of the rancor between band members doesn’t occur in concert. I recall seeing footage of country duo Brooks and Dunn viciously ridiculing each other in performance, which had to be a downer for the audience, and Stevie Nicks staring down Lindsay Buckingham during a Fleetwood Mac reunion, which was great theater. Here’s a nypost.com headline about Frisco’s The Brian Jonestown Massacre, who were doing a show in Melbourne: “Band members brawl onstage during concert in front of stunned fans, cancels rest of tour: ‘Party’s over’.” Maybe I should have added something like that to my rock n roll epic, Rising Star. I often post the remarkable AI advances in medicine. As I’ve said many times, I have no idea if the technology overall is a threat to mankind. Recently I’d read that the number of abortions nationwide had actually risen since the SCOTUS ruling. Does this NYP headline refute that? “Overturning of Roe v. Wade led to 32,000 additional births, study finds.” I suppose both are possible.

RIP prolific producer/writer Marty Krofft, 86. Born in Montreal, of Greek and Hungarian heritage, he began as a used car salesman. Working with his older brother Sid, they created many children’s programs, including 74 episodes of Mutt & Stuff, 13 of Pryor’s Place featuring Richard Pryor, 43 of the prime-time show Land of the Lost. The pair also worked with music artists: Donnie and Marie, the Mandrell Sisters, The Bay City Rollers and Patti LaBelle. Nominated for three Daytime Emmys, Marty received a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2018. Married in 1965, his wife preceded him in death in 2013. He was a father of three. Well done, Sir. No sunshine today, so I spent almost the entire session of the floating book shop in the car. My thanks to my Constant Benefactress, who insisted on paying for The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison, despite having donated a book and a beautiful Christmas sweater, the latter bought by The Quiet Man. My thanks to him, and to the gentleman who purchased a CD I burned long ago, and to the one who selected three books in Russian.
