Excerpt from a nypost.com article by Angela Barbuti: “The Connecticut woman who earned a Guinness World Record for having the world’s largest mouth is ignoring her social media trolls and making a jaw-dropping over $13,500 per TikTok post for her prominent feature.” And Ralph Kramden thought he had a big mouth. Photo from Google Images:

NYP headline: “NYC subways have ‘alarmingly high’ pollution levels, study finds.” Duh. Study the obvious, burn through cash.

From an uncredited story at newsmax.com: “Michigan State Police said in a news release that the 8-year-old girl was in her backyard when the alleged assailant came out of the woods, grabbed her and covered her mouth. Authorities said the girl’s brother, 13, hit the alleged attacker in the head and chest using a slingshot. Police later arrested the 17-year-old based on another family member’s description of the suspect. Authorities also said the teenager had visible wounds from the slingshot.” Wow, sounds like something from Ripley’s Believe It or Not. Kudos, kiddo.

Headline from foxbusiness.com: “Self-checkout machines now ask for tips in latest squeeze on customers.” Airports, bakeries, coffee shops and stadiums — what happens if one doesn’t comply?

From foxnews.com: “Could Texas replace Hollywood? Dennis Quaid explains why actors are pushing for a move to the Lone Star State.” Unfortunately, according to the accompanying article by Kira Mautone, it comes with a price tag: “… legislation brewing in the Texas State House to increase film funding from $40 million to possibly $300 million.” Sounds like subsidizing the rich.

Despite not selling a single item in Russian, it was a good day for the floating book shop. My thanks to the lovely young mom who bought seven kids’ books and, at my recommendation, The Island of Blue Dolphins by Scott O’Dell for herself; and to the woman who purchased a book on Shelves and Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden; and to the ex-mountain climber who selected Mountaineers: Great tales of bravery and conquest by Royal Geographical Society and The Alpine Club; and to the gentleman who chose Bread Upon the Waters by Irwin Shaw and The Age of Innocence by Edith Wharton; and to the men who took home CDs by Barry White and Dido. The best part of the day was finding the prime parking spot open when I got back home. I’m good until I finish on Thursday.
