Sunday Summary
Whew! Headline from nypost.om: “‘Dead’ hospital patient regains consciousness before his cremation on funeral pyre: reports.”

Sign of the times, from NYP: “New Yorkers set monthly record for online sports betting.” It’s an interesting way to contribute to the economy — and government can’t tax losses. Then again, don’t give politicians any ideas.
This may be the most amusing headline of the day, from foxnews.com: “Blinken questioned for State Dept hosting in-house therapy sessions after Trump win.”
Last night the Svengoolie program, channel 43–3 on OTA in NYC, ran the ever-popular Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein (1948). In researching it at IMDb, I was intrigued most by the director, Charles Barton, a prolific Hollywood stalwart. He helmed at least eight of the legendary duo’s movies and so much more. His career began in the mid 1920s when he made three appearances as an actor before going behind the camera. He did 23 flicks as an assistant director, winning an Oscar for his efforts in 1934. There are 98 titles under his name in the category of Director, a figure that doesn’t begin to reveal how active he was once he crossed over into TV: 106 episodes of Family Affair, 90 of Dennis the Menace, 78 of The Amos n Andy Show, 38 of Petticoat Junction, 17 of Zorro and a whole lot more. He married five times, maybe because he was always working, never home. He passed away at 79 in 1981. Kudos, Sir. Photo from Google Images:
Here’s a montage of my books I did with MS Power Point. Don’t laugh, it’s my first attempt, and it’s confined to a box that isn’t very big:
It was a gorgeous though blustery day and the Anti-Inflation Book Shop did better than expected. My thanks to the buyers. Here’s what sold: Duplex (2003) on DVD, a Sidney Sheldon translation in Russian; Harry Potter and the Cursed Child by J. K. Rowling; On the Road by Jack Kerouac; a dictionary; Moral Minority: Our Skeptical Founding Fathers by Brooke Allen; and a huge Mad magazine pictorial. Photo from GI:
