Here’s the headline of the day, from foxnews.com: “Women are posing topless on Colorado mountaintops in ‘exploding’ new trend.” This gives new meaning to the Grand Tetons.

Social distancing was observed in a Safeway supermarket on the California side of Lake Tahoe. Here’s a pic:

This headline from cnbc.com is encouraging: “July home sales spike a record 24.7% as prices set a new high.”

If violent felons are being paroled, why is Lori Loughlin going to jail? She received a two month sentence, her husband five.

Great moment when a fly landed on Mike Bloomberg’s face as he delivered his speech last night at the convention. I’ll resist commentary.

The floating book shop did well on this gorgeous day. My thanks to Wolf, who went home with at least ten books in Russian and, in English, The Children of the Arbat by Anatoli Naumovich Rybakov; and to the woman who bought four Danielle Steel paperbacks; and to the young man who parked his scooter and selected a self help book, one on gardening, and The Godfather by Mario Puzo; and to Ira, who purchased a pictorial on the royal family and Khrushchev Remembers by Edward Crankshaw, the latter for his wife, who he claims has no idea how close her homeland and the U.S. came to war in the early ‘60’s. I remember it well. A siren in the middle of the night would set my heart racing. There was a joke going around about what to do in case of a nuclear attack. The final bit of advice was “kiss your ass goodbye.” These days it seems a crazy world, back then it seemed a dark one.
