Throw the Book at ‘Em

Bill O’Reilly’s new book is now available at Amazon and other outlets. He revealed a bit about it moments ago on Sean Hannity’s radio show. Boomers may recall that The Untouchables, which ran on ABC from 1959-’63 , came under fire from Italian-Americans, as most of the gangsters in the show’s early history were goombahs. It was a Desilu Production run by Desi Arnaz. According to the book, Arnaz received a death threat from the head of a family. Oh Lucy! O’Reilly did not reveal how Desi got off the hook. He wants people to buy the book, after all. He also pointed out that the Sicilian mob helped the invasion of the island during WWII, the Nazis being bad for business. In gratitude, the U.S. government allowed the massive post-war immigration of Sicilians into America.

Esta muchacha…!”

Donald Trump is still banned from Facebook, which has some ‘splaining to do according to this headline from foxnews.com: “HUMAN SMUGGLERS USING SOCIAL MEDIA TO TRANSPORT MIGRANTS TO US.” Here are two posts from FB:

Judging from his comments, Elon Musk, the brains behind Tesla, seems like a bore. Why should his hosting SNL be considered controversial given that one of the most boorish people on the planet, Alec Baldwin, has hosted 17 times? Does it have something to do with Trump? I don’t get it.

It’s no surprise that one of the paragons of political corruption, Sheldon Silver, has been released from prison after only eight months.

Headline from nypost.com: “Social-media bozos claim eating rotten meat gets them high.” Raw — uncooked! Sounds like fodder for horror/sci-fi writers.

Headline from NYP: “Conservative think tank Heritage Foundation stops taking Big Tech donations.” That is admirable but futile. The cultural battle has long been lost. The left has routed the right in that regard and seems to have passed the tipping point in the economic struggle as well. Hope I’m wrong about the latter, which will effect everyone who isn’t rich. Most of the cultural stuff one deems offensive or wrong can be tuned out, although it’s not always easy to do so and will probably become more difficult.

The floating book shop was rained out today. Yesterday I received the first Phizer shot. My left arm is a little sore and there is occasional clicking in my right ear, something I’d never experienced.
