If Republicans cave on the debt ceiling issue, which is all too likely, it will accelerate the left’s drive to socialism. Then again, it probably is too late to change America’s course. That hope died in 2020.

Opening line of a nypost.com editorial: “President Biden’s climate czar ‘John Kerry leads an international jet-set life that might exhaust a runway model…’” Kudos.

Headline from newsmax.com: “8th Graders’ US History Scores at All-Time Low.” Anyone surprised? Can’t blame the kids, as America’s history is currently being rewritten.

Seems to happen every time, headline from NM: “Gun Sales Surge in States Suppressing Firearms.” Why should criminals have all the fun?

RIP NHL mainstay Petr Klima, 58. Born in Czechoslovakia, he defected to North America in 1985, aided by two Red Wings execs. He played four seasons in Detroit. Exasperated by his drinking, the team traded him to the Oilers during the ‘89-’90 season. He scored the winning goal in the longest Stanley Cup Finals game in history, the third overtime of Game One. Edmonton beat Boston in five, without Wayne Gretzky, who’d been traded to L.A.. Klima also played for the Los Angeles Kings, Pittsburgh Penguins and Tampa Bay Lightning. He scored 320 goals and had 260 assists. He played his final two pro seasons in the Czech Republic, where he was living at the time of his death. He was a dad of twin sons. Cause of death has not been revealed. Photo from Google Images:

Wary of more drizzle, I made the right move setting up shop at a nearby viaduct. The books and me remained dry but, despite the stellar inventory, no one was interested in buying.
