Today’s Microaggression

Our national curse has struck again. Let the politicking begin. Silly me, it seems we have a mental health rather than gun problem.

I’ve come across a new term: “pretendians,” used to describe those who proclaim Native American heritage, such as Elizabeth Warren and Sasheen Littlefeather. Love it! Photo from Google Images:

RIP Academy Award nominee Michael Lerner, 81. Born in Brooklyn to Romanian Jews, he earned a Master’s in English drama at UCLA. He began in theater but found success on the screen. There are 186 titles under his name at IMDb, three to be released posthumously. His career began in 1963 with an appearance on Dr. Kildare. He was comfortable on the big or small screen. He was nominated for a Supporting Actor Oscar for his performance in Barton Fink (1991). He played JFK confidant Pierre Salinger in The Missiles of October (1974) mini-series, Jack Ruby in Ruby and Oswald (1978), Jack Warner in This Year’s Blonde (1980), Arnold Rothstein in Eight Men Out (1988), Louis B. Mayer in Pervyy Oskar (2022) and Grover Cleveland in the yet to be released Fragments from Olympus: The Vision of Nikola Tesla. He also had roles in the remake of The Postman Always Rings Twice (1981), Godzilla (1998), Elf (2003) and X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014). He made at least five appearances on six TV series, and did a ton of one-shots. Well done, Sir. Thank you. Photo from GI:

Things may be tough right now in America, but fortunately they haven’t gone as far as this — headline from nypost.com: “Iran installing public cameras to ID, penalize unveiled women.”

Isn’t there another country willing to host this? Headline from newsmax.com: “Tesla Building New China Factory to Make Megapack Batteries.” Very disappointing. How ‘bout Taiwan?

Headline from foxnews.com: “Felons are grooming kids to commit crimes, and the law is on their side, sheriff says.” And the sub-headline: “Kids have to ‘almost kill somebody’ to remain in custody: California sheriff says.”

Also from FN, more PC madness: “School district to hear from public after superintendent candidate lost job for greeting 2 females as ‘ladies’.” Deemed microaggression.

It was a picture-perfect day to do business curbside. My thanks to the kind folks who bought, donated and swapped, especially the local porter who purchased huge tomes on air conditioning and electrical maintenance. Here’s what else sold: The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson and The Departed (2006) on DVD.
