Transformation & All That Jazz
I’ve seen suggestions that the damning Hunter Biden laptop was planted by Russians. Is that simply another reversal in the Dems arsenal, the same that foisted the collusion accusation on the President when it was actually Hillary and her minions who were guilty of it? Even if true, it does not change the fact that Joe Biden used his influence to enrich family members. Imagine the mainstream media outcry if Trump had done this. Polls show that the scandal has affected “Middle Class Joe’s” numbers, which reflects that some people have only just started to pay attention to details.
There has been much talk about the Dems transforming America. It seems it has already been transformed. How else would one explain the cowering in the face of a virus whose death rate is less than one-percent? Meanwhile in Queens, authorities broke up a party of 215 of maskless individuals at a catering hall. No one was arrested. Several summonses were issued. Also along that front, the CDC estimated, according to an article at nypost.com, that about 177,000 Americans died during the 2017–2018 flu season, from either the flu itself or by complications of pneumonia. And in another side bar, this was the scene in Washington Square Park yesterday. Note the social distancing. Were any summonses issued?
From an article at foxnews.com, in my own words except for the key phrase: Actress Kirstie Alley is taking heat on Twitter for her support of President Trump. Among her comments is the reason many, including me, support the president— “he’s not a politician.” Unlike Bruce Springsteen, she has not stated plans to move to Australia if her preferred candidate is not elected.
Twitter’s censorship continues. According to an article at foxnews.com, it removed a tweet from top White House coronavirus adviser Dr. Scott Atlas for questioning the effectiveness of masks in combating COVID-19. He cited examples of areas where “cases exploded even with mandates” including Los Angeles, Miami, Hawaii, Alabama, France, Philippines, United Kingdom, Spain and Israel. I’m skeptical about the effectiveness of masks, but it’s possible that the spread in those areas was caused by those who refused to wear one. Why not simply add that to the tweet and let users decide on the validity?
I doubt there will be a more amusing headline today than this: “Brazilian leader’s ally nabbed with nearly $8G stuffed in underwear during anti-corruption raid.” Politician in a nutshell.
That’s not him, just a pic I found at Google Images.
I wonder how this will play among liberals, from a headline at FN: “France moves to expel 231 radicalized foreigners after assassination of teacher.”
There’s finally an explanation for the Jets release of talented RB Le’Veon Bell. He had an $8 million injury guarantee in his contract for 2021. If utilized, the team would have had a lot less to spend on rebuilding. Why didn’t management explain this immediately? Was it afraid of bad publicity? It’s almost always about the money. I promise this will be the last time I mention this story.
My thanks to the two ladies who combined to buy six novels in Russian, and to the gentleman who purchased an old paperback bio of Michael Jackson- before the dirt reached the press; and to the man who took home Fire Your Therapist: Why Therapy Might Not Be Working for You and What You Can Do about It by Joe Siegler.
