Given the billions the NFL rakes in, how is the following allowed? Headline from nypost.com: “Buffalo Bills’ billionaire owner set to get $1B in public funds for new stadium.” Welfare for the rich. It’s up to the citizens of that city to stop it. Most likely, they’ll roll over.

Boy would I love my books being on this list. Headline from NYP: “Website lists trigger warnings for over 6,000 classic novels.” It’s BookTriggerWarnings.com. To show how absurd it is, Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird is on it. If that’s the case, how many works of fiction, classic or not, would not be on it? It would make more sense to make a list of books that have no triggers. Trigger this, yahoos.

For the second straight week my Friday night movie fix fell victim to my inability to not nod off. Despite ten Oscar nominations, the latest adaptation of Dune (2021) could not prevent this annoying aspect of aging. I’d guess I saw only half of its 2:35 running time, so I won’t comment on it. 507,000+ users at IMDB have rated it, forging to a consensus of 8.1 on a scale of ten. Since I’m not a big fan of sci-fi, I probably won’t go back to it unless it’s ever aired on an OTA station, and I doubt I’ll add the sequels to my Netflix list. In fact, I’m thinking about canceling the service, since its absurd to pay for something I’m not taking full advantage of. If it weren’t so inexpensive, I would have done it already.

Headline from foxnews.com: “Cigarette butt used to identify suspect in 26-year Washington cold case.” Mixed results, as the slimeball took the secret to his grave, mid 50’s at the time of his death. He had five prior felony convictions.
