Think Buffy and Von Helsing were hardcore? 350 years ago in Poland, headline from nypost.com: “‘Real-life vampire’ considered so dangerous she was padlocked inside grave with a sickle at her neck: archaeologists.” According to the article by Brooke Steinberg, she also had “a giant padlock on her toe.” Her remains were found in a medieval graveyard. She had “a single protruding incisor tooth…” and “an abnormality in Zosia’s breast bone.” The name was given to her by researchers. Photo from NYP:
Excerpt from an NYP editorial: “The surreal aspect of the Netanyahu retaliatory tour is that he has done more to neutralize European and American enemies than did NATO, the CIA, the FBI, and Interpol combined, and yet more often received rebuke rather than gratitude.” Like Trump, he is hated for doing things better than everyone else in politics. Still, there is no end in sight to conflict in the area.
More than 200,000 subscribers have cancelled subscriptions to the Washington Post. Even though I disagree with their views, I get it. I have not purchased Coke since twelve-ounce cans were labeled “Be Less White,” and I no longer watch pro sports because of the pandering to woke ideology.
Headline from newsmax.com: “Ballot Boxes in Washington state, Oregon Set on Fire.” Right, left, both?
Toning down the rhetoric? Headline from foxnews.com: “Dem rep stuns CNN host with bizarre claim Trump has plans for ‘internment camps’.” Debbie Dingell, Michigan. Recall that no Dem was jailed during DT’s first term, while Quid Pro Joe’s minions have managed to incarcerate several Trump supporters and brought charges against the ex-president.
FN out of Oklahoma: “Top school official sends Harris $474,000,000 invoice after adding costs of illegal migrants.”
Incentive? From FN out of Vegas: “Strip Club Hosting An Election Night Viewing Party With Free Lap Dances For Those Who Voted.” Funny, but I never had the desire for a lap dance, which seems masochism. I want the full monty — that would be incentive.
My bad. From FN out of Wisconsin: “After accidentally selling THC-laced pizza, restaurant owner apologizes.”

Headline from newsmax.com: “Halloween Spending Down Amid Soaring Prices.” I sense it’s the main reason business has been so weak lately at the Anti-Inflation Book Shop. People have less discretionary income. Today’s session defied that — yay! My thanks to the gentleman who bought two hardcovers in Russian, and to Movie Buff, who purchased Redemption by David Baldacci; and to Marsha, who selected Before I Say Good-Bye by Mary Higgins Clark; and to the young man who overcompensated me for Batman Begins (2005) on DVD; and to the woman who took home three pieces of costume jewelry; and to the man who, for a special reason, selected The Garner Files: A Memoir by James Garner & Jon Winokur. At the age of nine in 1965 he was playing basketball in a Manhattan. A film was being shot nearby. He had no idea who the popular actor was but, egged on by his older brothers, he approached and asked for an autograph. Garner shook his hand and dribbled the basketball…Someone has added books to my free kiosk — great. The only disappointing aspect of the endeavor is the disregard some folks have for others. I find books on the ground or upside down in the boxes. How much effort would it require for those eager for free stuff to be considerate? The human race sometimes…
