Here’s something to look forward to, headline from nypost.com: “Harvey Weinstein’s ‘deformed’ genitalia to be scrutinized at LA sex crimes trial.” Photographs only, thank heavens.

Will there be a more amusing headline in today’s news than this from NYP: “California weed company sued over not getting pot smokers high enough.” Cue the Byrds, paraphrased: “Seven miles high…” (David Crosby/Gene Clark/Roger Mcguinn)

Also from NYP: “Florida woman, 8 months pregnant, polespears fish for potential world record catch.” Photo from Google Images:

Tax dollars at work, headline from newsmax.com: “Video Report: Lawmakers Question US Funding for Drag Shows Abroad.” All together: “You can’t make this stuff up!”

Michael Ramirez cartoon:

Headline from foxnews.com: “Stacey Abrams doubles down on Jim Crow 2.0 claims after record-breaking early turnout.” The race card will never go away.

Also from FN: “Expectations for John Fetterman debate performance lowered by media: Just needs to be ‘relatively coherent’.” Heckuva standard. I doubt the debate will matter, anyway. Who doesn’t know where the candidates stand? I think early voting will drag Fetterman across the finish line despite his radicalism and poor health. I’ll be very surprised if Dems lose any of the races where early voting is heavy.

The sprinkles ceased and the floating book shop was able to get in a partial session. My thanks to the sweet, elderly library lady volunteers, who donated a book in Russian, and to the woman who bought a hardcover in that language; and to Fred, who purchased The Road by Cormac McCarthy and a mystery by Karen MacInerney; and to The Frenchman, who settled his tab; and to Alice, who selected Forget Me Not by Fern Michaels.
