While doing a survey this morning, these were the choices in terms of one’s sex: male, female, transgender, non-binary, gender non-conforming, intersex, genderqueer, gender variant or gender expansive, genderfluid, bi-gender, agender, I identify as (please specify), prefer not to answer. Many survey sites still offer three choices, “other” being the third. I wonder if they will all eventually cave to PC pressure.

I break my pandemic silence for this amusing headline from foxnews.com: “White House says COVID ‘isn’t over’ after Biden claimed the ‘pandemic is over’ before midterms.” Cue Seinfeld’s Uncle Leo: “I’m an old man, I’m confused.” Photo from GI:

I spent the second half of today’s session of the floating book shop in the car, out of the wind. My thanks to the elderly woman who donated yet another pristine Reader’s Digest collection of four condensed novels, and to The Quiet Man, who bought a beautifully illustrated kids’ version of Victor Hugo’s The Hunchback of Notre Dame; and to the woman who selected Chainfire by Terry Goodkind and The Riddle at Gipsy’s Mile by Clara Benson; and to Ludmila, who took this home:
