It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas. Sea Life Ocean World aquarium in Bangkok. REUTERS photo by Chalinee Thirasupa:

RIP actor James McCaffery, 65, who succumbed to cancer. Born in Belfast, he grew up in Albany. He earned a scholarship to the University of New Haven for athletics and fine arts. He began as an artist, graphic designer, and commercial art director, and also tended bar. He studied at the famed Actors Studio. There are 102 titles under his name at IMDb, three works to appear posthumously. He is best known as the voice of the Max Payne video games. He was quite successful on TV, appearing in 56 episodes of Rescue Me, 13 of Swift Justice, seven of New York Undercover, 34 of Viper, eleven of As the World Turns, twelve of Beautiful People, and he did many guest shots on popular shows. He also lent his deep voice to other video games. He was a father of one. Gone too soon. Well done, Sir. Photo from Google Images:

In a world desperate for good news, here’s some from a newsmax.com article by Charlie McCarthy: “Murders in the U.S. were down 12.7% as of Dec. 7, with a decline in 73% of the more than 175 cities with available data…” On the downside: “… the murder rate almost certainly remains higher in 2023 than in 2019.”

Headline from foxnews.com: “More than 180 of Jeffrey Epstein’s associates, victims likely to be named next year.” Oh, pretty please with a cherry on top.

From FN: “Jerry Seinfeld travels to Israel to show support for hostages and their families.” Kudos, Sir.

From FN: “Denmark reaches defense agreement with US, allowing military access to Danish soil.” Kudos and tak.

I groaned when I saw the guy coming with a shopping cart full of Russian books. I’d told him to come late in the week. Perhaps he hadn’t understood. Silly me — they sold like hot cakes. Thank you, sir, and to those who bought. I also sold three music CDs, a tape measure and The Winds of War by Herman Wouk. I am blessed, particularly since my BP and lungs checked out fine this morning at the doctor.
