Moonrise over White Sand National Park, New Mexico, photo from Reuters, posted at standard.co.uk:

Headline from nypost.com: “Nancy Pelosi defends herself over speculated Biden beef: ‘I did what I had to’.” Yes, she did. Politics is savage. What I don’t like is her pretending to be a nice person. And in the same vein: “‘Gold Bar Bob’ Menendez negotiating pardon from Biden for leaving Senate race: sources.” Were these people always slime or did a life in politics make them so? Quid Pro Joe’s speech began at 11:30 last night and, immediately afterward, he was whisked away to vacation in California. The President of the United States is no longer part of his party’s convention. Let’s pretend the past four years never happened.

RIP Lt. Robert DiMartini, 80, the most decorated cop in the history of the NYPD. He earned more than 500 medals. Awesome, Goombah. Thank you. Photo from Google Images:

From NYP out of the UK: “Food truck offering ‘seagull insurance’ with meals to cover thieving birds.” According to the article by Patrick Reilly, the equivalent of a buck-thirty is tacked on to the bill.

Radio talk show host Mark Simone inspired another Google search: “Supermarkets typically have slim profit margins, ranging from 1–3%… To stay profitable, they rely on high sales volume and inventory turnover… the average net profit margin for businesses in the United States is 7.71% across all industries.”

Headline from foxnews.com: “Republican calls for House impeachment vote after bombshell report on President Biden.” Yes, Quid Pro Joe is guilty of influence peddling, common knowledge for years, but why persecute an old man and arouse sympathy among voters? Concentrate on winning the presidency and congress. Never underestimate the ability of Republicans to blow an election. Recall the “Red Wave” that was supposed to occur in 2022.

Is there a more appropriate place for the Democratic Convention? From FN: “DNC in Chicago: 8 shot, 4 murdered in Windy City on day 1 of convention.” Defund the police, no bail no jail.

Does this sound logical? From FN: “Robert Kennedy Jr.’s running mate suggests ticket may drop out, join forces with Trump to stop Harris.” RFK is way left of center, closer in ideology to Harris than DT. What gives?

The most amusing story of the day involves an AI generated “Swifties for Trump” post that has liberals seeing red. Taylor Swift is an ardent leftist. She will not endorse DT, but it would be interesting to see how her followers vote. I would guess at least 90% would select Harris. Don’t be surprised if Swift shows up to the DNC and makes her endorsement official, continuing the momentum.

The day started out as a fall preview, cool and breezy, then returned to summer when the sun broke through. My thanks to The Quiet Man, who bought four CDs, and to the gentleman who purchased a Barbie pictorial, Real Simple Solutions: Tricks, Wisdom and Easy Ideas to Simplify Everyday by the Editors of Real Simple Magazine, a book on Spelling and four kids’ books; and to the man who took home more 3D art; and to Gino, a Bitcoin trader of Russian-Jewish descent living on 20th Avenue and Cropsey, who chose Exchanges by yours truly.
