There’s still no end in sight to the nonsense. Headline from nypost.com: “Seattle dance squad says they were told American flag shirts made audience members feel ‘triggered and unsafe’.” What happens when snow flakes hear the Star Spangled Banner? Photo from X/NYP:

Headline from newsmax.com: “Report: 22 Million School Papers Written by AI.” I probably would have taken advantage had it been available back in the day.

Rare honesty from Quid Pro Joe. From NM: “Biden Gaffe: ‘Elect Me. I’m in the 20th Century’.”

RIP Valerie Harper, 80, blessed with an endearing persona and considerable talent. Born in Suffern, NY, her family moved frequently throughout the USA. She began her showbiz career on Broadway as a dancer and chorus girl. She put in time with the Second City comedy troupe. In 1970 she was cast as Rhoda Morgenstern, the best friend on The Mary Tyler Moore Show, a character beloved by legions. She put in four years, 92 episodes, before the character was spun off into an eponymous series that shot 109 episodes. In 1986-’87 she starred in 32 episodes of Valerie. She did guest shots on many popular prime time shows and starred in a bunch of TV movies. On the big screen she appeared in Freebie and the Bean (1974), Chapter Two (1979), Blame It on Rio (1983). She was nominated for an Emmy eight times for her work as Rhoda, winning four times. She also was awarded a Golden Globe in ’75. On stage she played Golda Meir and Tallulah Bankhead, the latter role earning her a Tony nomination. In 2009 she was diagnosed with cancer, which she fought till the end. Despite her ills, she competed on Dancing with the Stars in 2014. Married twice, she was a mom of one. Here’s a quote attributed to her: “Life is a miracle.” Well done, Madam. Thank you. Score one for an armed citizen. Headline from foxnews.com: “85-year-old woman hailed a hero after killing home intruder while handcuffed to chair.”

My thanks to Mother Nature, who held the rain back, allowing the Anti-Inflation Book Shop to get in a full session on this pleasant day, and to Wolf, who bought Bone Bed by Patricia Cornwell; and to the woman who purchased The Everything New Nurse Book: Gain confidence, manage your schedule, and be ready for anything! by Kathy Quan; and to the man and woman who took home two hardcovers each in Russian.
