Unmasked

From nypost.com, edited by yours truly: A masked MSNBC reporter told his cameraman to film a man walking past, saying on air, “As you can see, no one is wearing them.” The quick-witted citizen replied: “Including the cameraman. Half your crew’s not wearing them.” His wife posted video of the exchange, which has attracted more than two million views. Kudos.

From foxnews.com. It will be hard for other headlines of the day to top this: “103-year-old cracks open Bud Light to celebrate coronavirus recovery.”

As riots plague Minneapolis, here’s news about another city from an article at FN: “Another 28 people were shot in Chicago in the hours following a violent Memorial Day weekend that saw 50 people shot, including 10 killed.” Are residents of the Windy City rioting about this? Is video of the entire arrest in the Minnesota incident available? If so, it should be released to the public even if it damns the police even more. And somebody please explain how burning and looting will make things better.

Given the whining of many MLB stars about salary during a curtailed season, I don’t at all regret having abandoned being a fan at the start of the wild card era. Do any know there are 40 million Americans out of work?

I hung out by my car for an hour at noon. I visited briefly with Nell and Barry, both of whom are mentioned in the novella on which I’m working. I have not told anyone who’s in it. I hope I don’t forget anyone. I realized I haven’t mentioned Marty, NYPD retired. He seems to have become more relaxed about Corona since the last time I saw him, his bandito mask lowered today. He helped an elderly neighbor for a few days, hoisting her from wheelchair to couch and such. Neither wore a mask. The woman was taken to a hospital, where she passed away, presumably of Corona. She was in her eighties. Neither Marty, his wife or daughter contracted it. He self-quarantined for 15 days. He now believes a lot of manipulation is being done by the powers that be.
