Unsurprising, Surprising

Headline from nypost.com: “Woke 101: SUNY makes new racial equity class mandatory for graduation at all schools.” Indoctrination.

Headline of an NYP Rich Lowry op-ed piece: “Blaming white supremacy for Tyre Nichols’ death is perverse.” But it’s not surprising… Also unsurprising, from NYP: “‘Total chaos’: Migrants turn NYC hotel into violent, drug-infested ‘free-for-all’: employee.” They’ve adopted the entitlement mentality shared by many Americans.

This, on the other hand, is very surprising. Headline from foxnews.com: “High-ranking Dem turns on Biden after admin gives major oil project green light.” It’s in Alaska. Also surprising, it was proposed by Trump in 2018, and Quid Pro Joe seems to have relished undoing anything Trump.

Interesting headline from newsmax.com: “China Successfully Clones Cows to Reduce Imports, Increase Food Supply.” Environmentalists want to know what will be done about bovine farts.

I enjoy posting items about the unintended consequences of the legalization of pot. Here’s a NM headline that poo poos any worries: “Study: Legalized Marijuana Doesn’t Increase Substance Abuse.” According to the accompanying unattributed article, the project involved 420 sets of twins, one living in a legalized state, the other where use is illegal. On the downside, the sample doesn’t seem large enough to offer any definitive analysis.
