Wars

In the Breonna Taylor case, I’ll side with the police, as usual. When fired upon, they should be allowed to shoot back. On rare occasions the innocent will be caught in the crossfire. If anyone knows a way of preventing that, speak up. In the war on cops, 37 have been killed in the line of duty in 2020 as of 9/11.

Four four years the left has fought the results of the previous presidential election. Now they want a guarantee of a peaceful transfer of power should things go their way in November. They would probably get it, as most Republicans go along to get along. If they are disappointed with the results, the war will continue.

It took a long time, but I’ve finally come across a reality show I enjoy: Storage Wars: Texas, an offshoot of Storage Wars, which I’ve never seen. It goes back to 2011 and ran for three years, 78 episodes. It’s currently airing on the Quest channel, 63–2 on over the air antennas in the NYC. What I like about it is the risk/reward aspect, which is something I came to respect about halfway through my life’s journey. The people bid on the contents of abandoned lockers, which they are allowed only a brief look into from the outside. The highest bidder/s then try to turn a profit on the contents. If there is a prize for the episode’s winner, I haven’t heard or seen of it. I know the participants are paid because in researching the title I came across info on a cast member — brassy, middle age Lesa — who left due to a salary dispute. So far the biggest hauls I’ve seen have been several thousand dollars. The personalities are diverse and interesting.

My thanks to Mark, who bought ten works of non-fiction across a wide spectrum, including Mental Traveler: A Father, a Son, and a Journey through Schizophrenia by W. J. T. Mitchell. He told me he takes six meds to battle his disorder. He seems fine. My thanks also to the three kind folks who donated books, each a keeper, and to the others who made purchases. The remaining six sales were of books in Russian. Spasibo.
